When given the opportunity to read and review Beauty Has Her Way, an anthology edited by Jennifer Brozek, I jumped on the chance. I positively loved the last anthology of hers that I had read, Close Encounters of the Urban Kind, and looked forward to diving into this collection.

In the introduction, Jennifer Brozek cites the song “Beauty Has Her Way” by Mummy Calls as an inspiration for the anthology. Her interpretation of the song evolved until she came up with doing an anthology based around the notion of women using all of their assets to get their way. This is not to be confused with the idea of them using those assets to do the right thing.

I was very excited to get a chance to review this anthology. It is the first in a series of anthologies about Bad Ass Faeries, and who doesn’t love a book about Faeries who kick some ass? There is so much room for creativity in writing about faeries, and most of it should be about [...]

Contest anthologies can be daunting to review, particularly when the scope is as broad as that presented in Circlet’s Best Erotic Fantasy anthology. While this review will focus primarily on the three contest winners, it must be said there is something for everyone in the full collection. Circlet’s stated goal, to challenge the strictures of both erotica and sf/fantasy through the creative fusion of these genres, is well served in this eclectic assortment of tales.
