Rise Reviews is dedicated to reviewing quality genre fiction which received less than professional rates.
There is too much quality fiction out there – no review site could handle it all. Most review sites choose to review publications which earned professional rates first. The result is that a lot of excellent fiction published by semi-pro and fan markets has trouble getting reviewed. Rise Reviews does its share to fill that niche.
We review any speculative fiction which received at least a token payment for its publication, but less than professional rates*. We can’t possibly review everything, but we hope to help bring quality new and independent publications to the attention of readers.
Are you a publisher, writer, editor or agent who has something you’d like reviewed? Request a review here. We can’t guarantee we’ll get to it but we’ll do our best! We review novels, anthologies, collections and magazine issues (plus the occasional podcast, poetry, comic and/or film).

* Professional Rates are defined according to the qualifications for the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA): minimum $0.05/word for short stories, $2000 or more for novels.
